Teacher Professional Development Program

Location: Hammer Museum

How is identity formed? In what ways is identity shaped by the systems and forces of our world? Join us for a FREE professional development program for K-12 teachers, administrators, and teaching artists.

In this half-day workshop, you will:

  • Explore the special exhibition Jimmie Durham: At the Center of the World and the newly reinstalled Armand Hammer Collection.

  • Learn strategies for facilitating inquiry-based discussions about works of art with your students.

  • Practice approaches for guiding movement and artmaking activities in your classroom.

  • Work with other educators to develop ideas for incorporating new teaching strategies into your teaching practice.

Capacity is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Please RSVP with your name, school, and grade level to academicprograms@hammer.ucla.edu.

This workshop is organized by the Hammer Museum and the Visual and Performing Arts Education (VAPAE) Program in the UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture.
